Privacy and security

Plain words about what stays on your phone and what doesn’t.

Stays on your phone

  • SMS, MMS and contacts
  • Private folder, blocklist, favorites, scheduled messages
  • Your PIN — only as a salted hash
  • Link checks — done locally

Leaves the phone only for a reason

  • Cloud backup — only when you start it
  • “Seen” marks — a one-way hash, no text or numbers, deleted after 30 days
  • Crash reports and anonymous usage stats (Firebase)
  • Feedback you send us

“Seen” marks

Only an irreversible fingerprint of the message is sent. Numbers and text never leave the phone. Records are deleted after 30 days.

Statistics

Firebase helps us find crashes. Events carry no text, numbers or names. In India it’s off until you agree.

No ads

There are no ads in the app. We don’t sell data and don’t share it for advertising.

What the private folder is — and isn’t. It hides conversations inside the app, opens with a PIN or a secret touch and blocks screenshots. Messages on the device are not separately encrypted.

How to delete your data

  1. Uninstall the app or clear its data — local data is removed.
  2. Ask us to delete cloud backups: write from the Google account used for the backup.
  3. We reply within 30 days.
